An out of control bushfire is burning in dense bushland in the tiny community of Meelon in the Shire of Murray, south of Perth.
A bushfire emergency warning has been issued for people in Meelon, including those near Murray Hills Estate and Nicholson Road.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) has warned homes and lives are at risk.
Residents in Valley View Road, Coolup Road East, Ridgeview Road, Nicholson Road and Murray Hills Estate are in immediate danger and must act urgently to survive, DFES warned.
The bushfire is moving slowly in a south westerly direction towards Murray Hills Estate and is unpredictable.
Winds in the area have strengthened, spot fires are burning ahead of the blaze and flames are up to four metres high.
